Dr Rippon Sanghera

Specialist Orthodontist in Cheltenham

My name is Dr Rippon Sanghera, a Specialist Orthodontist and I am excited to be joining the Claydon Dental Team. Claydon dental have asked me to join them to try to deal with the increasing restrictions on availability of orthodontic care in  the area. NHS waiting times have increased dramatically up to two years in Cheltenham, and fewer children qualify for orthodontic treatment.

You will be able to see me for Orthodontic Consultations at Claydon Dental starting from March’22. I treat Children and Adults using an array of Aesthetic Braces and clear Aligners such as Invisalign. The benefits of Private Orthodontic treatment include not having to face long waiting times and having more treatment options available to you.

I qualified in Dentistry from Guy’s, Kings, and St Thomas’ in London in 2003. A special interest in surgery led me to spending 9 years training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. I worked in various hospitals in the South East including Royal London Hospital, where I was also a Honorary Clinical lecturer and involved in undergraduate dental training. In this time, I obtained my Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2008. I was awarded a national prize, the Associate Fellow’s Prize by the British Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, for the best presentation of a clinical study at a national conference.  I am an examiner for the General Dental Council/Royal College of Surgeons England and have been for the past 10 years.

Through Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and my special interest in jaw surgery, this led me to specialise in Orthodontics. I undertook 3-year higher speciality training in Birmingham Dental Hospital and Worcestershire Royal Hospital. I was successfully awarded a Membership in Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (2017) and recognised as a Specialist in Orthodontics with the General Dental Council.

I look forward to meeting you at the practice
