Gum Disease

The primary cause of adult tooth loss is gum disease. Even so, education around how to treat and prevent this problem is limited and rarely talked about. It is also referred to as periodontal disease.

INDICATORS OF GUM DISEASE

Bleeding gums is a major indicator of gum disease. With a good tooth brushing and flossing regime, you probably won’t experience any bleeding from the gums.

However, it is easy and not uncommon to fall behind. If you do, you may spot some blood when you restart flossing your teeth. This could be a sign that you need a dental hygiene appointment to get rid of plaque that’s become embedded.
